Drank 650 ml of The Abyss by Deschutes Brewery (2013) | August 24th, 2014 |
2014-08-24 Sweet smell with a little roast, presents about the same on the palate, with some barrel notes thrown in as well. A tasty stout that hides that alcohol well, but after that Abraxas last week... ;-)
Drank 500 ml of Dauenhauer by Sonoma Pride (2013-10-15) | August 23rd, 2014 |
2014-08-29 Better than the last time, perhaps overridden by previous hopped beers, but tasty funk, nice sweetness, overall a good one.
2014-08-23 Funkier than the last bottle, an interesting mix of farmhouse, funk, and malt sweetness.
2014-07-12 More esters than Amasa, less head, more malt character, less citrus. Also quite drinkable, very tasty, though Amasa was probably more fun.
Drank 500 ml of Amasa by Sonoma Pride (2013-12-20) | August 23rd, 2014 |
2014-08-26 Still delicious.
2014-08-23 Still delicious and my favorite of the two Sonoma Pride releases, great hop aroma and flavor, and a great mix of funk.
2014-07-12 Fluffy white head, tasty Brett grain and sweetness, mild maltiness, and well carbonated. Eminently drinkable, tasty.
Drank 750 ml of Atomic Kangarue by The Bruery (2014-07-29) | August 19th, 2014 |
2014-08-30 Got more wine this time, not bad but not great, and Cami hated the smell ;-)
2014-08-19 Hazy golden color, fruity nose, bit of breadiness, malt, and very mild hop character on the palate, takes a bit of a weird turn taste-wise. Drinkable, but not great, not much tartness or hoppiness (expected more based on description).
Drank 750 ml of Abraxas by Perennial Artisan Ales (2012-11) | August 16th, 2014 |
2014-08-16 Absolutely delicious, amazed this hasn't seen a barrel. Tons of bitter chocolate in the aroma and on the palate, really balanced sweetness along with it, and a lovely bit of heat from the chiles on the finish. Love it.
Drank 750 ml of Bottleworks XII by The Bruery (2013-06-10) | August 16th, 2014 |
2014-08-16 This is still drinking so great. Surprisingly, still a lot of fruit going on, coupled with a perfect tartness and that wheat goodness backing it all up. Love this beer and sad I'm down to my last bottle.
2013-11-03 Fruit is falling out but still a delicious brew, perfectly balanced.
2013-08-31 Love this beer. Such a perfect mix of tartness, fruit, and wheat. Alcohol completely hidden. Get more perhaps? ;-)
2013-08-13 Absolutely delicious, tons of raspberry, really balanced sour and definite wheat in the nose. Love it, so glad to have more of this. Huzzah!
Drank 22 oz of Live a Rich Life by Three Floyds Brewing (2014-02-10) | August 16th, 2014 |
2014-08-16 Really good, if straightforward take on the style. Quite hoppy, which you don't often see in Belgians as much, but otherwise matched the expected profile. Enjoyable, easy drinking.
Drank 750 ml of Vlad the Imp Aler by Cascade Brewing (2011) | August 16th, 2014 |
2014-08-16 This was great! Perfectly crafted Cascade sour profile, with some barrel notes, some wine, and a lot of spice that nonetheless works great. Delicious beer.
Drank 750 ml of Serendipity by New Glarus Brewing Company (2013) | August 12th, 2014 |
2014-08-12 Extremely delicious as always, fruit soda as a beer, great apple presence, do want more.
2013-11-02 Still delicious, like a Hansen's fruit soda with alcohol added, perfect fruity blend.
2013-09-14 Delicious, just like Raspberry Tart except with a different fruit profile, light and soda-like in its drinkability. Wish we had this out here!
Drank 12 oz of Fred by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company (2012) | August 6th, 2014 |
2015-03-08 Batch 88, this was the flat one. Flat and, well, flat. Not a bad taste profile though. Too bad.
2014-08-06 Carbonated, so not one of the bad bottles Pablo and I ran into, a little tangier than Adam, a little more overt malt presence. Still a great beer, more hop forward, Adam still the winner but this is tasty.
2013-02-21 Hoppier than Adam, a bit like a barleywine but with amazing balance, no more sweetness than needed. Tasty. (Batch 87)
Drank 12 oz of Adam by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company (2012) | August 5th, 2014 |
2014-08-05 Muted nose with some yeast and sugar, great on the palate, no heat at all despite the ABV, candi sugar, grain, delicious.
2013-08-21 Batch 88, mild carbonation, almost pitch black, great nose, and such a great ale, "old" or not, balanced and delicious. Glad this was better than the Batch 88 Fred.
2013-02-12 Mild sweetness, amazing grainy nose, not very boozy, some mild warming. Delicious. (Batch 87)
Drank 375 ml of Temptation by Russian River Brewing Company (2014-06-18) | August 4th, 2014 |
2014-08-04 Delicious, great wine notes, perfect mix of tartness and funk, very dry, and oh so drinkable.
Drank 22 oz of Moloko by Three Floyds Brewing (2013) | August 4th, 2014 |
2014-08-04 Tasty, with chocolate, vanilla notes, and a definite sharpness kind of like a porter which was fun to see in a milk stout.
Drank 750 ml of Smoking Wood Bourbon Barrel Aged by The Bruery (2013) | August 3rd, 2014 |
2014-08-03 Much better than regular Smoking Wood, the smoke makes a nice backdrop for the pronounced barrel notes, a great take on a porter, and hides the alcohol well.
2013-08-23 Zero head, very little carbonation, sweet, oak, and bourbon up front, and lots of smokiness on the finish. Not bad.
Drank 750 ml of Oude Tart by The Bruery (2012) | August 3rd, 2014 |
2014-08-03 Tart, some fruit, lots of barrel, delicious.
2013-04-13 Tartness, oak in nose, vinous tartness, good and quite tart Flanders! |
